Greetings to our Centennial Families-
As Spring Break is coming to an end, I wanted to get a message out to all families! Staff members have worked to provide Choice Boards for all students beginning on March 30th. These will be located in See Saw, Dojo, or Google Classroom. Most students have already been using these platforms at school and know how to sign in to their account. If not, teachers can support you as we get started with this process.
Monday morning teachers will post Choice Boards through the platform they currently use with students. Choice Boards will also be posted on our school webpage. Also, for families that aren’t connected we will mail the the first week of Choice Boards with report cards. In addition, we will have paper copies available to pick up if needed. The purpose of Choice Boards is to help students maintain the academic skills students have already been taught.
This upcoming week will focus on getting staff and student connected and the materials students need. Monday and Tuesday teachers will call each family to check in and ensure families can access the work via digitally or paper and pencil. Teachers will assess technology needs when they call to allow us to develop a plan to get devices checked out to the families that need mobile devices. Information will be shared on free access to WiFi in this upcoming week.
Please have your students begin the tasks that are posted on Monday for the week. We will monitor student activity and reaching out to students who haven’t been active to check on needs. Teachers will provide ongoing feedback to the work students are completing at home. Recommended work time for students daily-
K-2 (30-60 minutes daily)
3-6 ( 60-90 minutes daily)
I will be sending out more information early next week describing a plan to allow students to collect any essential items from the school, check out needed devices, etc. keeping in mind the CDC guidelines for this process.
“Grab and Go” food services will continue at Sac, McGhee, and Jenifer between the hours of 11am-1pm.
Thank you for all of your patience and understanding as we work through this process together.
