Starting Jan. 31st, I'll be hosting a drop-in group in the library. Students who want to participate will practice building social and problem solving skills through different LEGO building activities. Totally voluntary and fun! Kids just need to come to the library right after they finish eating lunch. Primary grades will meet on Tuesdays and intermediate grades can join in on the fun on Wednesdays.
Parents, kids, schools, our community....we've been through a lot these past couple of years, and all of the stress and uncertainty has taken it's toll on all of us. We are seeing greater mental health struggles, increased substance use and risk for suicide in our children. The school districts in the valley have come together to offer a night of support and resources to help parents and families navigate and persevere though all of these challenges. Below is a flyer outlining the event - Please come and join us as we work and support our children and each other.
It's that time of year for our 5th graders to being getting ready for the transition to middle school! It is an exciting and anxious time for our students. There is a parent orientation scheduled at Sacajawea Middle School in the gym on Monday, April 11 at 6:30. The staff at SAC is looking forward to sharing about their school and what parents and students can expect as you prepare for middle school next year.
Mr. Sperber, the principal, and Mrs. Hight, a counselor, from SAC will also be visiting the 5th graders at Centennial within the next couple of weeks to talk to students about registering for classes next year. They will also be able to answer questions about activities available to students and how to prepare for success in middle school. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions about registration or transitions to middle school! |
