Hello to all of my Centennial friends. I miss your smiling faces so much! I just wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking of you and sending you happy and kind thoughts. Things are really different right now, and I know that can be stressful and cause us to have all kinds of big feelings. Has anyone else been feeling more cranky, frustrated, and tired? Those are some of the things that I've felt...so I've been trying to take extra special care of my guard dog (remember, that's the amygdala - the part of the brain responsible for our body's stress response). I've been taking slow, deep breaths, seeing what different sounds I can hear when I quiet my body, listing things I am grateful for, and trying to do something kind whenever I can. What are you doing to take care of your guard dog while school is closed?
Things I'm grateful for today: wet, sloppy kisses from my doggies, fuzzy socks that keep my feet warm, chocolate cake that my daughter baked, my son saying thank you to his sister for the chocolate cake (Miss Manners would have been so proud!), and I'm grateful for all of the amazing, unique and wonderful students at Centennial. I can't wait until I can see you all again!
Love and hugs,
Mrs. J
